This retreat was an absolute gem! The location of the camp is stunning—right in the heart of nature, perfect for a true escape. Wild yet equipped with everything you need. Victor and Matt made our stay truly special. They were amazing and going out of their way to make sure we had the best experience. The surf lessons were fun and tailored to all levels, while the yoga sessions were the perfect balance of relaxation after surfing and some challenge. The camp had a cozy, laid-back vibe, with pizzas, bbq and evenings spent around the campfire. I couldn’t have asked for a better mix of adventure and chill downtime for a solo trip having met so many cool people! Highly recommend this retreat if you want to surf, unwind, and connect with awesome people! ~ Dominika S

I took my 8 year old Coasteering with Cornish Wave and we had an amazing experience with Willow who took us along some of the craggy coast of Newquay and had us jumping and dropping into the sea and having a high old time. Willow definitely knows his stuff, was an expert on the stretch of coastline we were traversing and made sure we were all safe at all times and his enthusiasm for the sport and overall positive and tuned in attitude was infectious, so we had an absolute blast. Superb service, top notch equipment and instruction and an amazing instructor led to the BEST DAY on our whole holiday. Will be looking to book to go Coasteering again next year and I am also considering taking a surfing lesson too. Top notch experience, many thanks to Willow and the Cornish Wave Team. ⭐️ ~ Adam F

Currently on the train to work after what has been a fantastic weekend with Jey & Co. We spent the weekend coasteering, surfing (think I am a little bit hooked), axe throwing and staying at the wild camp. I honestly don't think the weekend could have been any more perfect (even the sun came out to play!). I cannot recommend these guys enough. There is sufficient structure and tuition to feel safe and supported, however without it feeling regimented. Therefore you can relax and enjoy the weekend as it unfolds. Surfing/coasteering was brilliant (although feeling very achy now), but the highlight for me was the wild camp. Its a totally unique space where you can switch off from the world. Something I think we all need from time to time. Thanks for a great weekend guys :) ~ Harry A

BEST WEEKEND EVER! My partner and I went on the 2 day surf and coasteering weekend in September last year. We found that from the moment we arrived at check in and all the way through the trip, we were well looked after by our guides and hosts. The guides that looked after us were so friendly and supportive during our surf and coasteering sessions. They were professional and supportive, which made the days super fun for us. The wild camping facilities were decent and there was fun activities dotted around the camp site; axe throwing, boats on the lake, wild swimming, lawn games. They had a couple of communal areas; one by the fire pit and one in the kitchen area. We had a great weekend together meeting new people and sharing fun experiences together. A Cornish weekend I will never forget! ~ Hanna

Even though we were complete beginners - my two girlfriends and i could not believe what a top level service and how safe and fun it was for us over the weekends coming down from London to Newquay to stay and train with Cornish Wave. How stunning the campsite we got to stay at has really exceeded what we'd expected - very functional, comfy, beautiful and a very romantic spot in the forest short drive away from the coast. Jey and Daz were very professional and on top of being best, most caring surf instructors, coasteering guides and campsite hosts and we felt very safe and in a great company at all times, had so much fun doing all the water activities. leaving this review to thank them in addition to the million thank you's we were saying when leaving, can't wait to come back on our next trip. ~ Katya C

Jake (not J :P), Matt, Patrick, Tom (boogaloo warmup) and Joe (Tom's doppelganger) were amazing, great weekend of surfing lessons and coastering !! We were lucky to have great weather in late September and gnarly waves and the instructions had us all catching waves on the Sunday. The office is really close to a lot of great restaurants as well, we're vegan and had loads of options around. The camping was great as well, loads of activities around, and the kitchen/breakfast is well stocked for simple things. PLUS the camp had a hit shower which hits the spot after a long day if surfing before settling in for BBQ at night. Thanks to the whole team and to the seal 🦭 we spotted while coastering. ~ Nayef A

We did a girls-trip with Cornish Adventure - surfing, coasteering and camping - and it exceeded all of my expectations. I am by no means an adventure enthusiast, but I thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this weekend trip. Dazza had us all standing on a surfboard even though we were complete beginners. It was obvious that Jey was incredibly trained in coasteering and you felt like you were in the safest hands jumping off a cliff. The camping was PERFECT after a long day of surfing and coasteering. Incredibly organised, clean and comfortable. Even the outhouse was perfection. It felt incredible to sleep in a private, secluded forest. Loved every moment of this trip and can't wait to visit again. Thank you both! xx ~ Hannah T

Just did a session with Max (the instructor) yesterday. I did it with my 2 children aged 12 & 9. They organised it so we did it with another family of 3. My kids were a bit nervous beforehand but he put them at ease. Towards the end, I dislocated my shoulder doing a jump from a higher spot (my fault for not folding my arms over my body). Speed of response in getting someone from the company to pick me nearby & take me to the nearest Minor injuries unit was so impressive. Luckily Max allowed my kids to carry on for the final 3 jumps (with supervision from the other adult in the group). They really loved it. I did too, until my unfortunate incident. This would not put me off trying it again in the future, once my shoulder is mended! ~ PALANI K

Birthday surprise from my girlfriend, and she scored mega points for this one!! Jey, Daz and the Cornish wave team were fantastic - encouraging us all to push our boundaries in a safe environment. Surfing, Coasteering - Never thought i'd be jumping off a 30ft cliff into the sea, but with their encouragement i did and loved every second! Wildcamping was the perfect chill out at the end of the day and at no point did anything feel rushed, just nice and chilled. BIG thanks to the whole Cornishwave team, you absolutely nailed it!! ..also, on a seperate note - if you're going in the sea, do not a £200+ GoPro entrust to a £15 eBay accessory kit - If a friendly fisherman returns mine, get intouch lads! :) ~ Adrian M

Absolutely brilliant! Went with wife and daughter along with a dozen other people all different ages, shapes and sizes and the experience was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Instructed by Jey and Max, we were able to enjoy some stunning scenery, swim through a smuggler's cave, learn a bit of local history and jump off varying height rockfaces (ranging from sea level to about 10/12m) The guys were ace, having a chuckle with us all way round yet very professional. Encouraging everyone but not over pushing if you didn't feel comfortable with some of the bigger jumps. Will be recommending to all when I get home and will definitely be back for another go. The private 2 hour session was for my 12 year old son as his traditional way to celebrate his birthday. He had Nina as an instructor and it was one of the best instructors he had. He had few other private sessions before and learned different techniques of standing up on the board with instructors favouring one and teaching using that particular technique. However, Nina was very mindful and open minded and suggested my son uses the technique that best suits him. It was brilliant- he said it was the best session he had. Because Nina was so flexible with her teaching, my son was able to get to try more advanced moves on the board. Thanks Nina! ~ Evelina P

I had such a fantastic time with Cornish Wave. I spent the night in the woodland retreat with my partner and a couple of friends and it totally blew me away! On arrival we learned ax throwing, and played various other crafted woodland games. We cooked our dinner on an open fire under a beautifully canopy area and chatted the night away. Everything was very thought out and well designed with so much attention to detail. I had such a good nights sleep - you really do feel like you’ve disconnected from all the busyness everyday life and are able to fully unwind. Jay and Daz were super friendly and very helpful making sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. 5/5 - I’ll be back guys! ~ Pippa H

12/10 amazing experience, spent some time looking through reviews as it was a special day for my partner and wanted to make sure he got the best experience, I booked us a private coasteering session and was not disappointed. Adam our instructor was very knowledgeable and helpful and made sure we got the most out of our experience, we enjoyed it so much we decided to go back for a surfing lesson the next day! Both myself and my partner highly recommend both activities we learnt so much in our time with Adam and can't wait to have another go at both activities will recommend cornish Wave to anyone everyone was so friendly and kind :) Lucy and Mike ~ Lucy H

THE BEST!!! We had always wanted to learn how to surf and being in Newquay we could not pass the opportunity so we booked private lessons with J. J is an amazing instructor and was able to get us up and riding the waves in no time. He was very patient and interested in us learning the right techniques. Furthermore, he did his best to educate us beyond the basics, so that next time we are at the beach, we will be renting a board and surfing without any help. We had so much fun to the point that it felt like we were just hanging out with an old friend surfing. We are hooked and cant wait to surf again! Highly recommend Cornish wave, simply because I felt so welcomed and one of the team..I.e when I went to pick up the wetsuit and board nobody was there and I felt comfortable picking the gear up and leaving back how they like it and even had a little shower! Surfing, coasteering and wild camping! I had high expectations for this weekend adventure and boy was I overjoyed with what I got. Blimmin amazing!!! What made these experiences even more special were the instructors - Seriously fun and professional guys whose attention to everyone's individual practice, safety and happiness was truly commendable. The other people I met on the event were also very friendly and made for excellent company. The locations, incl. beaches and camp site, were dreamy. Exactly how the photographs look! I had a great time with cornish wave. I went on my own as did a few others in my group but we were all soon talking like old friends. The instructors were friendly, funny, informative and kept everyone safe. I've worked at sea most of my life and I am ex lifeboat crew so know how dangerous the sea can be. The coasteering was awesome, such good fun. The guys do a brilliant job making sure everyone is safe while cracking jokes at the same time. The surfing was great fun to. All equipment provided and lots of help from the guys. Everyone managed to stand up even if for a sort time. The wild camping was brilliant and well set up. A very relaxing place to chill out around the campfire and chat with new friends or you can go try out axe throwing and slack lining. Great service and an amazing coasteering experience. Responsive and easy booking process. Great communication and flexibility to solve a staff availability problem (covid related) and make sure we still got to have our coasteering session, much appreciated. We had a family session and Jay was brilliant, he tailored the activity really well to the range of confidence levels in our group. It was exciting and fun, a little scary, but felt very safe. Changing facilities and wetsuits/kit were fantastic, we were safe and warm throughout. (Hindsight: if you are taking a “go pro“, make sure you attach a float to it...!) ~ m h

Daz and Jey were incredible hosts/instructors. I could not fault a single part of the weekend. What they have done in the woods is remarkable. The wild camp experience far exceeded my expectations and had something for all levels of experience whether it be a first time camper to a camping veteran. We had a little bit of rain at the wild camp but this didn't dampen any spirits as there was more than enough shelter and a lovely fire to keep us warm. The bell tents were a delight and a very comfortable nights sleep too! The Coasteer was just the icing on the cake - despite any reservations about doing it, Daz and Jey made everyone feel relaxed and at ease. They had a perfect balance of being friendly and professional and made everyone feel that they had achieved something really special. I could not recommend Cornish Wave more. Had the most amazing weekend ever with the surf and coastering camp! The campsite was a dream, perfect scenic site with a beautiful lake and games and good facilities (hot showers, compost toilets, kitchenettes etc). Stuffing classes were ace, done by Jake and Matt as well as Tom (great warmup sess) and Joe, with the second class at Towan being one of my best surfing experiences ever! Coastering was an awesome adventure, led by Matt and Patrick who gave us the confidence to take jumps at our own pace/levels. We even had a face to face exhilarating experience with a male seal in the Tea Cabins sea tunnels! Thanks lot everyone!! 😁 ~ John C

I highly recommend that anyone visiting the Newquay area give Cornish Wave a go! I just got back from an adventure weekend surfing, wild camping and coasteering. It was absolutely brilliant, the instructors are friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy, instilling full confidence in their ability to instruct the best way for each individual to surf and jump. It was my first time surfing and in less than an hour of entering the water I was able to stand up and surf a wave into shore. I am 100% going again and have told my friends all about it. Also the wild camp is awesome and so well thought out! Don’t miss out! ~ Alex D

Don’t hesitate to book any adventure with these guys! Just finished up the intro to surf with wild camping and it was just above and beyond. Hey & Max went out of their way to ensure we all had the best weekend possible. The waves were small and they happily switched it up so we could all go coasteering in the afternoon instead. The camping was awesome and you could really tell a lot of care had been put into the site. Plenty to keep you entertained and a comfy clean tent to relax in at night. They brought together a group of strangers and made sure we all had the best time! Can’t thank you guys enough for the epic weekend :) ~ Beth A

My two boys went for three days of surfing with one camping trip. Their instructor Daz (Darren) was absolutely amazing! He worked on their technique, teaching them the basics and in general gave them a fantastic time. Now one of my sons is taking surfing on a regular basis due to having such a fabulous time. Jorren was also amazing in setting everything up and putting up with me changing the dates. Great customer care. Would highly recommend that anyone should go surfing with Cornish Wave. We will be back! Below are my two sons, (one is my kind of adoptive son, not the one in the orange wetsuit but the black wetsuit he has stayed with my family for a couple of years now since first coming over as a student) There is Daz the one with the beard! The view is of Penhale Beach in Cronwall. Thanks Daz for a simply brilliant time. Sorry I have no photos of camping with me, but they told me they had a smashing time! ~ Frances T
